Multiple crypto community users report that posting suspected advertising content led to their X accounts being locked, bringing renewed attention to "paid collaborations."

Odaily Planet Daily reports that several crypto community users have today reported that their X platform accounts were locked due to posting suspected advertising content. The main reason is that posting “projects with invitations” will be considered advertising by X platform, so users must comply with the latest “Paid Partnership” rules. However, according to some crypto KOLs, removing the related posts allows for account unlock requests at this stage.

Crypto community analysis indicates that all suspected advertising posts must use the official “Paid Partnership” label or prominently start with “Ad / Sponsored by XXX.” Disclosure needs to be clearly visible, and sponsored content must be marked accordingly; otherwise, posts are at risk of deletion or account suspension. Currently, long-form posts do not have an official label, but users can manually add a clear note in a prominent position.

Additionally, crypto community users report that Grok analysis states that simply sharing crypto opinions, attitudes, and project updates will be considered personal expression and not classified as “Paid Partnership.”

Previously, X product lead and Solana advisor Nikita Bier clarified that the “Paid Partnership” feature is used to label commercial promotional content, enhance transparency with followers, and clearly distinguish between commercial collaborations and organic content. X platform encourages creators and brands to engage in commercial collaborations on X, but undisclosed promotions can damage the integrity of the platform and weaken user trust in the content.
