Starting from March 1, our country has imposed anti-dumping duties on imported rapeseed originating from Canada

On the 28th, the Ministry of Commerce announced its final ruling on the anti-dumping investigation of imported rapeseed originating from Canada, deciding to impose anti-dumping duties on imported Canadian rapeseed starting March 1, 2026.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce responded that on September 9, 2024, the Ministry initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imported rapeseed from Canada. After the case was opened, the Ministry conducted the investigation strictly in accordance with laws and regulations, widely solicited opinions from all stakeholders, fully protected the rights of all parties, and made an objective, fair, and just ruling. In August 2025, an initial ruling was announced, deciding to take provisional anti-dumping measures. On February 28, 2026, a final ruling was issued, setting the anti-dumping duty rate for Canadian companies at 5.9%, and deciding to implement the final anti-dumping measures from March 1 for a period of five years. These measures can help alleviate domestic industry pressure to some extent and are conducive to maintaining the healthy and stable development of the domestic industry.

The spokesperson stated that China has always advocated resolving trade disputes through dialogue and consultation. During the investigation, Canada repeatedly expressed concerns about the rapeseed case. China considered Canada’s reasonable demands within the framework of rules and made the final ruling based on facts and evidence. China is willing to work with Canada to continue deepening China-Canada economic and trade cooperation and to enhance the well-being of the peoples of both countries.
