The Japanese Financial Services Agency announced on February 27 that it will support private sector empirical experiments related to anti-money laundering (AML) in the fields of crypto assets and other areas. The project, applied for by Hitachi Ltd., involves participation from multiple crypto asset exchanges, stablecoin-related companies, and blockchain analysis firms. The experiment is scheduled to be conducted from March to May 2026. This empirical experiment will verify a new information sharing framework jointly developed by private enterprises, including sharing wallet address information suspected of misconduct within the industry, to enhance AML monitoring and risk identification capabilities.
