Deep Tide TechFlow News, February 27 — According to Fortune, Walmart Chief Human Resources Officer Donna Morris recently warned that the United States needs to strengthen AI talent development to maintain global competitiveness. She specifically pointed out that China is leading in the education system, “5-year-olds are already learning DeepSeek,” and Chinese students spend more time in class on average than their American peers.
Reports indicate that primary and secondary schools in Beijing provide at least 8 hours of AI instruction per school year, covering topics such as chatbot usage and AI ethics. Data from the Paulson Institute shows that nearly one-third of the world’s top AI talent was born in China.
To address this challenge, over 400 U.S. CEOs, including those from Microsoft, DoorDash, and Airbnb, have jointly called for computer science and AI education to be made mandatory for American students. Large companies like Deloitte, Verizon, and Walmart have also begun launching large-scale AI training programs for their employees.
