CPP Investments and Equinix have announced a $4 billion agreement to acquire atNorth, a Nordic high-density data center provider, to meet the surging demand for AI and high-performance computing. CPP Investments will hold a 60% controlling interest with a $1.6 billion investment, while Equinix will own 40%. The acquisition is strategically important due to atNorth’s sustainable data centers using liquid cooling and renewable energy, aligning with circular economy principles and bolstering the Nordic region’s leadership in environmental sustainability.
