Only when major centralized projects or large institutions in the crypto world collapse can Bitcoin go further.
Newcomers might not know, but back in 2017, the biggest political correctness in the crypto space was “speed and transaction fees.” How correct was that at the time? No one dared to say that speed was unimportant, or that security was more important than “low fees.” Back then, the chaotic ICOs were all boasting about their chains’ TPS being faster than Visa. That’s why Jiang Zhuoer confidently boasted, “Absolutely confident that BCH will defeat BTC by 2020.”
During a bull market, people generally lower their guard and don’t place too much emphasis on “security,” thinking the sky won’t fall, and no one would dare to attack the weak point of “centralization.” So, many also shouted slogans like “USDT will replace Bitcoin,” “Ethereum will replace Bitcoin,” or “Ethereum will swallow all commerce.” In my view, these are all repeats of history, and these people will still be taught a lesson.
