News Report (Correspondent Wu Li, Li Na): Recently, Xiao County People’s Court, in cooperation with the County Procuratorate and the County General Trade Union, successfully mediated a labor contract dispute involving migrant workers. The three parties fully utilized their respective functions, providing professional guidance and patient communication, ultimately reaching a settlement agreement.

In 2023, Li contracted the wall repair project for a commercial housing community in the county. Jin and more than ten other migrant workers had disagreements with Li over payment issues. After multiple negotiations failed, Jin and others filed a lawsuit against Li. To effectively protect workers’ rights and prevent conflicts from escalating, Xiao County Court’s “Litigation and Mediation Center” proactively collaborated with the County Procuratorate and the County General Trade Union to initiate a “pre-mediation” model, achieving a substantive resolution of the dispute. Li confirmed in court that he owed 25,700 yuan in wages; Jin and others expressed understanding and voluntarily waived other claims. The case was resolved satisfactorily within a few hours, truly achieving “case closed and harmony restored,” with positive social impact.

This tripartite joint mediation is a vivid practice of deepening cooperation among Xiao County Court, the County Procuratorate, and the County General Trade Union. It not only demonstrates the guiding role of judicial trials but also showcases the collaborative effectiveness of legal supervision and union services. In the future, Xiao County Court will continue to focus on conflicts related to people’s livelihoods, actively build a harmonious labor relationship, promote the implementation of the “Fengqiao Experience” in the new era at the grassroots level, and contribute judicial strength to building a harmonious society.
