Recent data from the Jilin Provincial Taxation Bureau of the State Taxation Administration shows that by 2025, the province’s consumer market will remain stable and improve, with multiple breakthroughs. Green and intelligent consumption will accelerate its penetration, cultural and tourism consumption will showcase特色, and the potential of silver-haired elderly care will be unleashed.
Green and intelligent consumption is accelerating its penetration. Data from VAT invoices indicate that smart health appliances have become a consumption hotspot, with retail revenue for daily appliances like refrigerators increasing by 24.5% year-on-year, and retail sales of gas stoves and other kitchen and sanitary ware increasing by 1.7%. The wave of 5G phone upgrades combined with policy subsidies has driven a 24% year-on-year increase in retail revenue for mobile phones and communication devices. The automobile sales market also remains hot, with retail revenue for new cars increasing by 12.2% year-on-year.
Cultural and tourism consumption features are prominent. In 2025, the province’s travel agency and related service revenue will grow by 18.6% year-on-year, with supporting dining and accommodation consumption increasing by 37.1% and 4.4%, respectively. Immersive cultural and tourism formats are accelerating, with artistic creation and performance revenue increasing by 60.4% year-on-year. The snow and ice sports have driven the sports consumption market, with revenue from sports health services and sports consulting services increasing by 35.6% and 19.7%, respectively.
The potential of silver-haired elderly care is being unleashed. In the silver economy sector, Jilin Province is focusing on building public comprehensive health and wellness centers, improving elderly care service systems. Revenue from elderly care services and social caregiving and assistance has increased by 20.6% and 12.8%, respectively. The province’s nursery service revenue has increased by 7.3% year-on-year.
