Ministry of Ecology and Environment: Complete ultra-low emission upgrades for 100 million tons of cement clinker and 50 million tons of coking capacity by 2026

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment will promote ultra-low emission upgrades in key industries with high quality, aiming to complete the ultra-low emission transformation of 100 million tons of cement clinker and 50 million tons of coking capacity by 2026. Focusing on key regions, it will guide local efforts to investigate and rectify inefficient pollution control facilities in major industries and classify traditional industrial clusters for remediation. Tailored measures will be taken to promote clean heating in northern areas, with in-depth comprehensive upgrades of boilers and kilns, expanding the elimination of coal-fired boilers, and encouraging industrial furnaces that currently use coal, petroleum coke, residual oil, and heavy oil as fuels to switch to power plant thermal energy, industrial waste heat, or clean energy.
