FTI Consulting Bolsters Asia Forensic Practice With Leadership Addition Amid Regional Expansion Push
FTI Consulting Inc. (FCN) is making a significant strategic move in Asia’s forensic and litigation consulting market through a senior leadership appointment. The firm has named Mavis Tan as Senior Managing Director, signaling accelerated investment in complex investigations and dispute resolution across the region.
Tan brings substantial credentials to the role. Her career spans over two decades in forensic accounting, regulatory investigations, and financial dispute resolution. Most recently, she led the forensic services division across Greater China and North Asia at Control Risks, where she built expertise in high-stakes cases involving accounting irregularities, asset misappropriation, and regulatory compliance breaches.
In her position at FTI Consulting’s Hong Kong office, Tan will partner with multinational corporations and wealthy individuals navigating intricate financial disputes. Her experience encompasses fraud investigations, expert witness testimony in civil and criminal matters, and forensic due diligence for major M&A transactions. She has also advised organizations on strengthening internal controls following major transactions or compliance issues.
The appointment reflects FTI Consulting’s broader Asia expansion strategy. Beyond Mavis, the firm has recently onboarded Rosie Hawes, Andrew Macintosh, and Martin Tupila across Singapore in the past six months. This coordinated hiring surge suggests the consulting giant is positioning itself to capture growing demand for forensic services as Asia-Pacific businesses face mounting regulatory scrutiny and cross-border litigation pressures.
The moves underscore how leading consulting firms are investing heavily in investigative and compliance infrastructure, recognizing that this expertise is increasingly indispensable for corporations operating in the region’s complex regulatory environments.
