Recently, top-tier VCs announced raising over $15 billion in new funds, sparking heated discussions in the community. This fundraising reflects a subtle shift in investment focus—from the past obsession with public chain performance to a reevaluation of system-level infrastructure.

To be honest, those L1 projects competing for high TPS and optimized consensus mechanisms have raised quite a bit of money in recent years, but their profit models have reached a dead end. Ultimately, competition boils down to subsidy levels and marketing narratives, which are cyclical opportunities and unstable in the long run.

Therefore, major institutions are now shifting their attention to another dimension—the control over system-level governance. Specifically, who defines asset types and settlement methods? Who has the authority over data and model invocation? How are identity verification and compliance checks embedded into the system? These questions may seem like technical details, but they actually determine who can access the ecosystem and who will be excluded.

Here's an interesting logic: AI handles production and decision-making, while cryptographic networks handle value confirmation and circulation. Only by combining these two systems can the ecosystem operate fully.

Looking at recent investment trends makes this clear. For example, a certain project received lead investment in 2025, focusing on an AI-native financial stack that enables software agents to perform instant stablecoin payments and low-fee transactions, with built-in identity verification and compliance frameworks. These types of projects are the focus of the next wave—neither pure tech showcases nor vaporware, but real, usable system-level infrastructure.

The wave of foundational infrastructure at the system layer is indeed coming. The story of high TPS in L1 has become tiresome. The real money lies in control; whoever holds the identity and settlement rights wins.

Behind the $15 billion is a game of control, see through it.

$15 billion. This time, VCs really understand it. The L1 performance-focused approach should have died long ago. Control over the system layer is indeed the core; whoever holds the defining power holds the key to the ecosystem's fate. AI + crypto—this combination... feels like the real big show has just begun.

Wow, control at the system layer is the real gold mine. The L1 race really should come to an end. I'm optimistic about the AI + crypto combo, but it has to be implemented to count. Spending 15 billion finally made someone see through; it's much more reliable than those TPS number games before. I like this logic—defining authority is more valuable than performance. Big institutions are still playing with this set. By the way, whoever can truly master identity layer and settlement rights will win. It sounds like the next shift in the center of power.

The control over the system layer has indeed become clear. The L1 approach has long been rotten; now it's a matter of who can seize the throat of the entire ecosystem. AI encryption combined is the right path, but this round will again depend on who can truly implement it.

Here comes another narrative to cut the leeks, like system-level control and AI financial stacks—sounds just like the next death flag.
