#钱包安全威胁 The case in Ufa in 2022 has left me unable to recover for a long time. A representative of public authority, yet using violence to force a private key out of a detained individual, transferring 20 million rubles worth of Bitcoin — this is not just simple corruption, but a trampling on the fundamental logic of this industry.

Looking back at the ledgers, how many similar stories are there? The collapse of Mt.Gox exchange in early years, the arrest of Silk Road founder, and various phishing scams and violent robberies — threats to wallet security have never come from code vulnerabilities, but from human nature itself. We always think that self-custody means everything is safe, but forget that holding the private key also means holding a knife at your throat.

The most ironic thing is that the sentencing of this traffic police officer itself reveals a current reality: the legal system is gradually recognizing and protecting the legitimacy of crypto assets, and countries are improving relevant regulations — but this kind of protection is ultimately just post hoc. Compensation and imprisonment cannot restore the lost coins, nor can they make up for that moment of despair.

This case reminds us that history often repeats itself but not exactly the same. Today's threats have evolved from "exchange runaways" to "abuse by authorities," and the focus of security should also be upgraded — not only to defend against hackers but also against visible threats in reality. In this cycle, being low-key and decentralized might be more valuable than any high-tech wallet.
