BitMine makes another large-scale purchase, this time investing 86,400 ETH, equivalent to approximately $266 million. According to on-chain data, they now hold over 1,080,000 ETH, with a total value approaching $3.3 billion.

Interestingly, faced with such a massive position, they did not choose to sell off and cash out. Instead, they locked these ETH into staking—earning a stable 3 to 5 percent annual return. This approach seems very pragmatic: it allows participation in the ecosystem consensus while generating stable cash flow. For an institution of this size, compared to the volatility risk of short-term trading, long-term holding plus staking yields clearly align better with their operational logic.
