For a long time, privacy features in the blockchain ecosystem have always been regarded as "add-ons"—either as standalone projects, separate tokens, or optional protocol layers. This approach is quite awkward, as privacy capabilities often feel disconnected from mainstream development tool stacks.

However, the Dusk project took a different approach. They didn't sidestep the issue but instead integrated privacy directly into the execution environment itself, making it a core capability of DuskEVM. As a result, privacy transactions are no longer "special requirements" but system-level functions.

Based on this concept, they launched Hedger—a privacy engine tailored specifically for DuskEVM. Essentially, it enables institutions and developers to implement highly confidential transactions that are also auditable and traceable. This is particularly meaningful for many compliance-sensitive scenarios—protecting privacy without sacrificing regulatory transparency.

Finally, a project has understood that privacy should not be an afterthought.

Hmm, this approach is indeed different. Built-in privacy instead of various patches. It feels like someone finally got it right.

The idea of integrating privacy into the underlying layer is indeed different, and finally there's no need for separate adaptation anymore.

ngl privacy-as-core is actually the move... been watching these "bolt-on" privacy plays get absolutely rekt by tooling issues. dusk doing it at the evm level hits different tho, not just another compliance theater 👀

Finally, someone has got privacy right, not just a synonym for scam coins.

Making privacy a system-level feature is indeed a good idea, but I don't know how it will actually be implemented. Will it be something impressive on paper but useless in practice?
