Strategic Leadership Expansion Signals Tekion's Next Growth Phase

Tekion, the cloud-native platform reshaping the automotive retail landscape, has brought two seasoned enterprise software executives into its ranks—marking a pivotal moment as the company accelerates its scaling ambitions. The appointments of Jacob Shulman as Chief Financial Officer and Rob Glenn as Chief Revenue Officer represent a deliberate move to fortify operational infrastructure during a period of exceptional business momentum.

The Numbers Behind the Growth

The timing of these executive appointments arrives as Tekion revenue has already surpassed the $100 million run rate threshold. More significantly, the company has maintained a 97% year-over-year growth trajectory—a pace that demands sophisticated financial oversight and globally coordinated sales execution. Both newly appointed leaders bring the specific expertise required to manage this scale of expansion.

Jay Vijayan, CEO and Founder of Tekion, emphasized that these hires were essential to sustain the company’s current momentum: “Their expertise and proven operational capabilities will bring the rigor needed to scale effectively while we continue this growth trajectory.”

Jacob Shulman: Building Financial Infrastructure at Scale

Shulman’s appointment to the CFO role places emphasis on financial discipline and strategic planning. With over 25 years of enterprise finance leadership, Shulman previously served as CFO at JFrog (NASDAQ: FROG), where he navigated the company through its IPO process and subsequent public market growth. His earlier tenure at Mellanox Technologies (NASDAQ: MLNX) demonstrated his ability to manage hypergrowth—he restructured the finance organization to support scaling from $48 million in annual revenue to exceeding $1 billion.

His responsibilities at Tekion will encompass financial planning, investor relations, treasury management, and the broader global finance organization. This comprehensive mandate suggests the company is preparing for potential future financing or exit scenarios while optimizing current operations.

Before his roles at high-growth tech companies, Shulman held finance positions at Atrica, Thyssenkrupp AG, Matav Cable Systems, and Ernst & Young—building a track record across multiple industries and geographies.

Rob Glenn: Orchestrating Global Revenue Operations

Rob Glenn’s appointment as Chief Revenue Officer positions him to lead global sales efforts for Tekion’s Automotive Retail Cloud (ARC) platform. With 25+ years in enterprise software, Glenn spent the last decade at Coupa Software (NASDAQ: COUP) as Chief Revenue Officer and Head of Alliances, overseeing the company’s transformation from $50 million in revenue (2015) to approaching $1 billion by the end of 2023.

His track record suggests a capability to build repeatable, scalable sales models—precisely what a platform company like Tekion requires as it expands globally. Prior leadership roles at PROS, EG Solutions, Global 360, Gresham Computing, and Tibco have equipped him with multi-sector software sales expertise.

What This Means for Tekion’s Platform Ecosystem

Tekion’s Automotive Retail Cloud (ARC) serves retailers and dealers, while its Automotive Enterprise Cloud (AEC) targets manufacturers and larger enterprises. A third offering, the Automotive Partner Cloud (APC), extends the ecosystem to technology and industry partners. The platform integrates OEMs, dealers, and consumers through a unified, AI-driven interface.

With Glenn leading revenue and Shulman managing financial operations, Tekion appears positioned to accelerate market penetration and prepare the business for institutional investor interest or strategic exit opportunities. The automotive retail sector, largely untouched by technology disruption for over 50 years, remains a significant market opportunity for a platform claiming to modernize the entire ecosystem.
