Spectrum TV Select Gets AMC+ At No Extra Cost: Here's What You're Getting
Spectrum and AMC Networks just rolled out a significant update for Spectrum TV Select subscribers—they now get access to AMC+ with ad support included in their package at no additional charge. This move is part of the two companies’ multi-year programming renewal agreement announced last September.
What’s Inside AMC+ for Spectrum Customers
AMC+ normally retails at $6.99 per month for the ad-supported version, but Spectrum TV Select customers get it bundled in. The service comes loaded with premium content across multiple networks and brands. You’re looking at popular originals like “Dark Winds” and “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches,” fresh seasons from “The Walking Dead” Universe, along with classic award-winning series such as “Mad Men.” The streaming service also drops exclusive movies every Friday and offers streaming-only exclusives like the new Lianne Moriarty adaptation “The Last Anniversary.”
The AMC+ catalog spans content from AMC, BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV, plus specialized channels including Shudder (horror), Sundance Now (independent cinema), and IFC Films Unlimited. Spectrum TV Select subscribers also get same-day access to all new AMC original series.
The Bigger Picture: $80 in Streaming Value
This bundle is part of Spectrum’s broader strategy to provide approximately $80 in retail app value to TV Select customers. Beyond AMC+, the Xumo Stream Box lets Spectrum customers stream ad-supported versions of Max, Disney+, ESPN+, Paramount+, Peacock, ViX, and Tennis Channel, with more services expected to roll out later in 2025.
Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President of Programming Acquisition for Spectrum, emphasized this reflects the company’s “customer-first philosophy to provide customers with flexibility and choice to watch what they want, when and on what platform at the most competitive price.” The approach consolidates multiple streaming apps into one convenient viewing platform.
What About Existing AMC+ Subscribers?
Spectrum TV Select customers who were already paying for the ad-free version of AMC+ ($9.99 per month) will receive a $7 discount on their next bill. This credit reflects the monthly cost of the ad-supported AMC+ tier now included with their TV Select package.
Kim Kelleher, Chief Commercial Officer of AMC Networks, noted that the partnership aligns with their strategy to “meet viewers where they are with the shows and films they love” by working with providers to distribute content across multiple platforms.
How to Activate
Spectrum customers can activate their AMC+ subscription through Spectrum TV Select at www.spectrum.com/getapp and can immediately begin streaming through the Xumo Stream Box or other supported devices.
This collaboration underscores the ongoing shift toward bundled streaming services as cable and streaming providers compete to offer comprehensive entertainment packages without forcing customers to juggle multiple subscriptions.
