Banco Supervielle, part of the broader Grupo Supervielle (NYSE: SUPV) financial services ecosystem, has formalized a significant management transition effective October 1, 2024. The shift marks the completion of a succession planning process initiated earlier this year, with Alejandro Stengel concluding his tenure as CEO after four years of strategic transformation at the institution.

The New Direction Under Manriquez’s Leadership

Gustavo Manriquez brings over three decades of financial sector expertise to his new role leading Banco Supervielle. Most recently, he served as CEO and General Manager of Banco Macro since 2016, where he spearheaded the bank’s positioning as a premier private financial franchise and orchestrated a comprehensive digital overhaul that reshaped customer engagement across all market segments.

His career trajectory spans multiple prestigious institutions within Argentina’s financial landscape. Early positions included leadership roles at Scotiabank Uruguay’s Retail and SMEs divisions, followed by an extended tenure at Citibank across both domestic and international markets. Manriquez holds business administration credentials from Universidad de Belgrano and advanced financial qualifications from CEMA, supplemented by executive education from IAE (Instituto de Altos Estudios Empresariales), where he also completed his MBA.

Strategic Vision for Growth and Innovation

Upon assuming his position, Manriquez emphasized his commitment to building on the institution’s foundation while charting a course toward future development. “It is an honor to lead Banco Supervielle into this next chapter of its distinguished history,” he stated, highlighting plans to drive innovation and refine financial solutions that serve both clients and the broader communities the bank operates within.

Patricio Supervielle, serving as both Chairman and CEO of Grupo Supervielle, underscored the strategic rationale behind the leadership change. He praised Alejandro Stengel’s contributions in transforming the bank’s operational framework over the past four years, describing it as instrumental in constructing a modern financial institution equipped for future challenges.

Building the Bank of Tomorrow

The appointment reflects confidence in Manriquez’s proven ability to merge operational excellence with digital-first strategies. Grupo Supervielle’s leadership expressed optimism regarding the new CEO’s capacity to navigate Argentina’s evolving economic landscape while strengthening the institution’s competitive position and advancing strategic objectives that support economic development across the regions the bank serves.

The transition remains subject to standard regulatory approval procedures, representing a carefully managed succession designed to ensure continuity while positioning Banco Supervielle for its next growth phase under Manriquez’s direction.
