Ugami Credit Card Gets Boost from Grow Credit's AI-Powered Platform
The gaming community is getting serious about financial empowerment. Ugami, which launched its debit card in 2023, just partnered with Grow Credit to turbocharge its credit-building capabilities for a waitlist of 265,000 gamers eager for a full credit card release in 2024.
Here’s what makes this interesting: Ugami integrated Grow Credit’s “Grow to Go” product, which lets users build credit while managing their finances—all with a free membership option plus secured and unsecured membership tiers. The data is solid. On average, users see their credit scores jump by 48 points. Even more striking, Grow’s internal data shows that 28% of active, on-time users hit prime credit status within just 12 months.
Why This Matters for Gaming and Finance
Joe Bayen, CEO of Grow Credit, framed it perfectly: “We’re thrilled to support Ugami’s financial inclusion mission. They’re building a solution that actually cares about customers’ financial futures.” Hector Hulian, CEO of Ugami, mirrored the sentiment: “A mission-aligned partner like Grow made perfect sense. We’re creating a safe, secure banking product where gamers can manage money, have fun, and build credit.”
The Ugami debit card was designed from the ground up for gamers—a first-of-its-kind financial product tailored to that community. The addition of credit-building features via Grow’s platform positions Ugami to roll out an even broader suite of financial products down the line.
Market Momentum Building
Grow Credit isn’t slowing down. The company recently closed a Series A funding round led by USAA and announced that Dovly (a fintech app) integrated Grow’s “Pay with Grow” solution. More partnerships are reportedly in the pipeline as banks, fintechs, insurance companies, and subscription platforms catch on to Grow’s payment, retention, and risk management tools.
Based on 10,391 active users tracked through May 2023, the credit-building results are consistent—though individual outcomes vary. This partnership signals that the gaming community is ready for serious financial services built specifically for them.
