Latch Installs New CEO and Executive Team to Drive Next Growth Phase

After months of financial restructuring, Latch has officially announced a comprehensive leadership overhaul. The company, rebranding as DOOR, named Dave Lillis as Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant transition following interim CEO Jason Keyes’ departure as the company completed its financial restatement in December 2024.

Lillis, who joined Latch’s St. Louis headquarters in July 2023 as Senior Vice President of Finance, brings a track record of scaling operations and implementing financial discipline. His previous role as Chief Financial Officer at RubinBrown LLP and his financial leadership at Mastercard Global Prepaid position him to navigate the company’s next phase.

Rebuilding the Financial and Operational Core

The new executive structure reflects a strategic focus on operational excellence. Jeff Mayfield, a Certified Public Accountant who arrived from MasterCard Worldwide in August 2023, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Over the past 18 months, Mayfield worked alongside Lillis to rebuild the accounting function and complete the company’s financial restatement—a critical milestone for meeting SEC reporting obligations.

Chris Peckham, transitioning from Head of Sales to Head of Operations, will oversee customer support, HelloTech’s service expansion, and supply chain optimization. This structural shift underscores management’s commitment to improving operational standards and customer experience across the business.

Strategic Leadership and Revenue Growth

Priyen Patel, expanded into the Chief Strategy and Legal Officer role after nearly six years at the company, will work alongside Lillis to identify growth opportunities and refine business strategy. His dual focus on legal compliance and strategic development aims to further optimize Latch’s ecosystem.

To accelerate revenue generation, the company recruited James Malone as Head of Revenue. Malone brings over a decade of experience scaling revenue organizations at real estate technology companies, including SmartRent. His mandate centers on maximizing customer lifetime value and optimizing performance across Latch’s product suite.

Technology and Product Innovation

Ryan Salmons, joining the leadership team through the HelloTech acquisition in July 2024, now leads all product and engineering initiatives as the company’s VP of Engineering. As HelloTech’s former Chief Technology Officer, Salmons brings expertise in hardware and software development, positioning Latch to accelerate product innovation and expand its real estate technology ecosystem.

Path Forward

“This leadership team represents a pivotal moment for the company,” said Lillis upon taking the CEO role. “In the past 18 months, we’ve restructured operations to create a scalable growth foundation and broadened our product and service offerings. We now have a complete suite of solutions enabling customers to operate their buildings more efficiently and intelligently.”

The appointments take effect immediately, with the company maintaining focus on its core multifamily access control and smart building solutions business. Latch continues working toward completing SEC filings for the year ended December 31, 2023, targeting completion in the first quarter of 2025.

Raju Rishi, Latch’s Lead Director, emphasized the significance of these changes: “Completing the restatement in December was crucial for the business. This new leadership configuration positions Latch to deliver enhanced value for customers and stockholders while driving operational efficiency.”
