Lily Liu: "The enterprise chain is killing the encryption soul, we should find back the original spirit of encryption."

On November 17, Lily Liu, the chair of the Solana Foundation, posted on social media calling for the “crypto world to return to the spirit of cypherpunk.” Lily Liu stated: "We are currently in the era of 'Enterprise Chains'—companies that hold massive balance sheets and ready distribution channels can package a single sequencer with fancy marketing, while promoting the narrative that 'decentralization doesn't matter' and claiming that this centralized effort 'is helping Layer1 develop,' despite everyone knowing that this is simply a logically flawed promotional tactic. Meanwhile, the infrastructure of AppChains that truly embodies the spirit of crypto is being crushed by corporate giants. Even in revenue predicaments, these projects begin to self-hypnotize, believing that the only way out is to transform themselves into 'Enterprise Chains.' This is not the vision I yearned for when I first read the 'Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System' White Paper, and I am certain that this is the common voice of the vast majority of crypto practitioners.
