Don't remind me again today

Ever caught yourself in a false breakdown? You know, when the price punches through support but snaps right back like nothing happened. Classic trap move. How do you spot these before they burn your position?

I've seen a lot of false breakouts like this; the key is to look at the Trading Volume... I usually disregard breakouts without volume as if they didn't happen.

False breakouts usually happen when Large Investors are whipsawing. A real breakout should come with volume; any penetration without volume is just a ruse.

Fake breakouts are the most annoying thing. They suddenly pierce the stop loss and then rebound, causing the account to go into a bloodbath while the market is still alive... The key is how to recognize it before getting liquidated.

False breakouts, to put it simply, are the market testing your stop loss position. In my experience, a true break of support is often accompanied by a surge in trading volume, but false breakouts are usually just bluster—similar to those false proposal votes in DAO governance, which seem to have consensus but actually have a severely imbalanced weight. The key is still to see if the equilibrium of the game has truly been broken. If the price just crosses but the fundamental mechanisms remain unchanged, then it is a typical false signal caused by incentive distortion. Many people fall victim here, being too eager to follow the trend.

This fake breakdown is really old hat; every time it's smashed through the support level, it scares me half to death, then it rebounds... The key is how to run away quickly.

False breakouts are just... sigh, I get tricked every time. The key is to look at the trading volume, the fake ones can't produce any volume at all.
