Is Steve Jobs Actually Satoshi Nakamoto? The Hidden Bitcoin Whitepaper Mystery

robot
Abstract generation in progress

Satoshi Nakamoto’s true identity remains crypto’s biggest unsolved mystery. But here’s where it gets spicy: Bitcoin’s whitepaper is literally hidden inside every modern macOS.

Yes, you read that right. After macOS Mojave (launched Sept 24, 2018), Apple embedded a file at /System/Library/Image Capture/Devices/VirtualScanner.app/Contents/Resources/simpledoc.pdf that contains the original “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” paper. The discovery resurfaced in April 2024 when engineer Andy Baio documented it.

Why is this wild? Because Satoshi’s last public message was December 12, 2010. Steve Jobs died October 5, 2011—just months later. The timing is chef’s kiss suspicious.

Satoshi supposedly holds ~1 million BTC in the Genesis wallet. Never touched. Never claimed. Jobs built Apple into a trillion-dollar empire, then vanished from public life. Both genius-level visionaries. Both disappeared at key moments.

Obviously, this is pure speculation (Craig Wright already claimed to be Satoshi, but crypto community isn’t buying it). But the fact that Bitcoin’s original thesis is literally baked into Apple’s OS as a hidden Easter egg? That’s either the most legendary flex ever or the deepest rabbit hole in tech history.

What do you think—coincidence or clue?
