The $300 million renovation of the Trump White House banquet hall is funded by encryption companies including Ripple, Tether, and others.
On October 24, The Verge reported that Trump is demolishing the East Wing of the White House to make way for a lavish banquet hall. The president stated that the $300 million cost will not be borne by taxpayers, but will be covered by private donors, including himself. According to a donor list released by the White House on Thursday, some of America's largest tech companies are included, such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, and Microsoft. YouTube, a subsidiary of Google, has agreed to pay over $20 million for the project. The Crypto Assets sector is also performing well, with Ripple, Tether America, CEX, and the Winklevoss brothers (Cameron and Tyler appearing on the list) all providing donations. Additionally, defense and telecom giants like Lockheed Martin, Comcast, T-Mobile, and Palantir are also on the list.
