The podcast network "Night Flight" is exploring an innovative subscription model aimed at enhancing listener loyalty while not forcing the unbonding of SOL staking. The project's producer, Yi Qing, has chosen to collaborate with Solayer Labs to design a unique subscription mechanism.
In this new system, users obtain sSOL by staking SOL. The system unlocks different levels of content based on the weighted value of "sSOL quantity multiplied by the holding days." At the same time, sUSD serves as a stablecoin to carry the cash flow of annual subscriptions, and the distribution of creators' shares is based on sSOL snapshots.
A notable advantage of this model is its user-friendliness. Users can easily select subscription options within a familiar wallet interface and immediately gain access to corresponding rights and content. For creators, this approach allows them to simultaneously monitor the "paid curve" and "loyalty duration," providing valuable data support for content creation and user operations.
The "Night Flight" concept has also been extended to offline events. At an impromptu meeting, priority ticket purchase rights were set for users whose "sSOL weighted balance over the past 30 days exceeds a specific threshold." This approach not only led to the rapid sell-out of tickets but also spared users from the hassle of being forced to unstake in order to grab tickets.
After the event, the remaining sSOL will be used for liquidity provision (LP), while the advertising slots during the program will be settled in sUSD based on "holding duration and contribution." This approach further optimizes resource utilization while providing additional earning opportunities for loyal listeners.
Yiqing stated that Solayer Labs has successfully transformed "loyalty" into a programmable data structure. This innovation allows for the natural alignment of staking flows, cash flows, and governance flows without tapping into users' underlying assets. Most importantly, it enables creators to directly integrate "the patience of true fans" into product logic, providing new possibilities for content creation and community building.
This innovative subscription model not only reflects the application potential of Web3 technology in the field of content creation but also provides a new idea for solving the loyalty issues in the creator economy. With the promotion of this model, we may see more similar innovations emerging on other content platforms, driving the entire industry towards a fairer and more transparent direction.
