Personal Consumption Expenditures for July in the US were announced. The headline PCE increased by 2.6% as expected. The core PCE also met expectations, with an annual increase of 2.9%.
The headline PCE for June was 2.6% and there was no change observed here in July as well. However, the core PCE increased from 2.8% to 2.9%.
The expectation of a discount continues
After the announced data, Bitcoin increased slightly and rose to the level of 111 thousand dollars. In the CME metrics that measure the market's expectations regarding the Fed's decisions, it is also seen that the expectation of a rate cut in September continues.
According to CME, the markets have an 85% expectation for the Fed to make a 25 basis point cut in September.
