A British man mistakenly throws away nearly eight thousand Bitcoin, the government does not care about cooperation.
In 2013, British computer engineer James Howells accidentally mixed a hard drive in a trash bag while cleaning his office, resulting in a wallet containing 8000 Bitcoin being sent to the landfill. Today, the value of these coins is nearing $950 million. Over the years, he has tried to negotiate with the Newport City Council, hoping to invest £25 million to purchase the landfill, but he has been rejected every time. The lawsuit has also been unsuccessful. Howells insists that this is his "digital property," but since the landfill is owned by the city council, he does not have the right to enter and dig.
