Taxi fares are very expensive in developed areas. When I first started my business, I would take the subway wherever I went on business trips, and for places that were a bit closer, I would just walk. I often walked for half an hour, sweating profusely, and prided myself on being a little expert in frugality.
Later, after being reminded and even criticized by others, I realized that I shouldn't squeeze onto the tram and go to meet clients smelling bad.
As usual, but whenever I'm with colleagues or meeting clients, I definitely take a taxi.
