In the Web3 world, Solana is known for its high speed but still faces some challenges. Some decentralized applications (dApp) have either high on-chain costs or insufficient security. At this time, Solayer has emerged, cleverly combining stake (restaking) and hardware acceleration technology, aiming to address these two pain points and achieve the goal of being both fast and stable.
The core of Solayer is its re-staking protocol. Users can deposit SOL or liquid staking tokens ( such as mSOL, JitoSOL) into Solayer in exchange for sSOL. These sSOL will then be allocated to services that require additional security guarantees, such as dApps, cross-chain bridges, and oracle-based active verification services (AVS). This mechanism not only provides an additional layer of verification for these services but also enhances the overall security of the Solana network.
It is worth noting that sSOL is not locked but remains liquid. Users can continue to use it for other DeFi protocols to earn additional yields, thus enhancing capital utilization efficiency.
In addition to re-staking, Solayer has also introduced hardware acceleration technology. By adopting the finiSVM architecture, combined with high-performance technologies such as InfiniBand, RDMA, and SDN, Solayer has the potential to achieve millions of TPS and extremely low latency, meeting the performance demands of highly demanding applications.
The LAYER token plays an important role in this ecosystem, serving as the scheduler and fuel for the entire system. Its existence allows various components of Solayer to coordinate and operate, providing a better experience for users and developers.
The emergence of Solayer brings new possibilities to the Solana ecosystem. It not only enhances the security and performance of the network but also provides users with more asset utilization options. As this innovative solution develops, we may see more efficient and secure decentralized applications flourishing on Solana.
