The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is about to launch a significant industry research initiative. SEC expert Hester Peirce will lead a team to visit ten cities this fall, organizing a series of roundtable discussions aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the current state and needs of the Crypto Assets industry.
The core objective of this initiative is to extensively gather opinions and suggestions from industry participants, technology developers, and investors. The SEC hopes to lay the groundwork for formulating more reasonable and effective regulatory policies for digital assets through this direct dialogue.
It is worth noting that the SEC's Crypto Assets special working group will pay particular attention to emerging crypto assets startups, especially those that are less than two years old and smaller in scale. This indicates that the SEC is working to understand the latest developments and innovation trends in the industry.
This series of roundtable discussions is expected to take place from August to December. Through this extensive industry participation, the SEC hopes to gain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the industry, providing important references for future regulatory decisions. This initiative reflects that regulatory agencies are actively adapting to the rapidly evolving Crypto Assets ecosystem, striving to find a balance between supporting innovation and controlling risks.
