Wu reported that Ethereum researcher Dankrad Feist submitted a new draft proposal EIP-9698, which proposes an exponential rise in Ethereum’s Gas Limit (currently at 36M), through client default settings (addressing the current lack of coordination in the miner voting mechanism), aiming for a 100-fold increase over four years. This aims to create a predictable and sustainable growth trajectory for the Gas Limit, enhancing coordination and transparency during the Gas Limit adjustment process, while maintaining backward compatibility with existing mechanisms.
