In the US-Iran negotiations, the original plan of 10 o’clock has changed to three points!
Among them, on the first day it’s compensation—this much I still understand; even Don the King is willing to let me take my head off and have him kick it around like a ball.
If they can talk it through, it’s like two people who’ve already been fighting until they’re bleeding all over, saying “let’s negotiate,” and one side says, “you have to compensate me for my medical expenses, compensation for mental distress, nutrition expenses, and all kinds of other fees.”
That’s just not very reliable—thinking to myself, “I suffered enormous losses too. Why should I cover your losses? You should be compensating me instead.”
So this negotiation is very difficult.
