Publicly traded companies in the US can certainly choose to disclose information more frequently, as long as they avoid metrics that require auditor review under GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). However, more frequent disclosures do not always align with the best interests of shareholders, and the board has a fiduciary duty to protect shareholder interests. After all, laying all the cards on the table when playing is not the way to win.
