BofA strategists are divided on whether there is a "frenzy" in U.S. stocks
Sina Financial News Wall Street has different opinions on whether the surge in the U.S. stock market has gone too far and too fast, and even Bank of America’s own strategists have different opinions. Savita Subramanian, head of U.S. equity and quantitative strategy at the bank, believes there is little evidence that the frenzy for AI is pushing the market into bubble territory, with strong earnings and the resilience of the U.S. economy giving it room for further gains. This is at odds with Chief Investment Strategist Michael Hartnett’s view last week. Hartnett said that the “Tech Seven” and the crypto space are developing rapid price appreciation and other bubble features. Subramanian believes that there are some risks in U.S. stocks, but they are all upside. Last week, Subramanian said the rally in U.S. equities did not reflect what had been seen in previous boom-bust cycles, such as the large gap between stock price and value, or the heavy use of leverage.
