Gather AI raises 57.6 billion KRW in investment... Accelerating logistics automation innovation with physical AI

TechubNews

Startup Gather AI, which develops AI automation technology within logistics warehouses, successfully raised $40 million in Series B funding (approximately 5.76 billion KRW), officially launching its global expansion. Based on this funding, Gather AI plans to extend its services to hundreds of facilities worldwide and focus on enhancing predictive capabilities.

Founded in 2017, Gather AI centers around its proprietary “Physical AI” technology. Unlike traditional AI that relies on internet data or text for learning, this technology uses millions of physical images captured in real environments as training data. As a result, it can accurately understand the actual conditions inside warehouses and provide reliable operational insights based on real-time on-site data that digital systems often overlook.

Gather AI’s platform targets the so-called “internal logistics” sector. Its autonomous system, integrated with drone and computer vision technologies, can fly autonomously within warehouses, recognizing labels, barcodes, text, and more. The collected data can be automatically synchronized with enterprise systems without additional infrastructure changes, enabling real-time tracking of inventory locations, statuses, and movement paths. This helps minimize manual operations, eliminate blind spots, and optimize operations.

Gather AI specifically introduces the concept of “end-to-end intelligence” to differentiate itself from existing logistics automation solutions. Instead of tracking isolated points within warehouse logistics, this approach monitors the entire process, capturing bottlenecks or inefficiencies and providing a comprehensive view of operations.

Over the past year, the company’s operational scope has doubled, and the number of new contracts has increased by 250%, demonstrating rapid growth. Currently, global logistics and manufacturing companies such as GEODIS, Axon, NFI, and Langham Logistics are using Gather AI’s technology.

This Series B funding round was led by Smithpoint Capital Management, with participation from well-known investment firms including Bain Capital Ventures, Tribeca Venture Partners, Bling Capital, and Dundee Venture Capital. The total funding amount has reached $74 million (approximately 10.65 billion KRW).

Co-founder and CEO Sankalp Arora stated, “This funding will lay the foundation for us to leap beyond mere visualization and achieve fully autonomous operations. Problems that were previously invisible in the supply chain can now finally be seen.”

Against the backdrop of the rapid rise of AI-driven logistics automation technology, the potential of Physical AI proposed by Gather AI is attracting significant attention for its impact on real industry sites.
