The Firefox browser extension store has reported a wallet security incident, discovering over 40 counterfeit extension programs.

Gate News bot news, security company Koi Security has disclosed a security incident involving the official extension store of the Firefox browser. The investigation revealed that there are over 40 counterfeit crypto wallet extensions in this extension store, which impersonate mainstream crypto asset wallets such as MetaMask, Phantom, Exodus, OKX, and Keplr.

According to a survey by Koi Security, these malicious plugins operate by embedding event listener code to steal users' Wallet mnemonics and transmit this data to the attackers' servers.
