The U.S. Federal Appeals Court ruled that the Trump administration revoked the valid identification of hundreds of thousands of immigrants.
On September 13, Jin10 reported that on September 12 local time, a federal appeals court in the United States rejected a challenge by immigration rights advocates against the Trump administration's withdrawal of temporary legal identification for hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, based in Boston, overturned the ruling by Federal District Judge Indira Talwani, who had previously determined that Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas did not have the authority to terminate the "parole" status granted to approximately 430,000 immigrants during the administration of Democratic former President Biden.
