On September 4, the US August "small non-farm" ADP employment figures will be released tonight at 20:15, with a previous value of 104,000 and an expected value of 65,000. The number of initial jobless claims in the US for the week ending August 30 will be announced tonight at 20:30, with a previous value of 229,000 and an expected value of 230,000. Additionally, the US August unemployment rate and seasonally adjusted non-farm payrolls for August will be announced tomorrow night at 20:30. Analysts have pointed out that the current labor market data is receiving much more attention than usual, and Powell has made this week's non-farm data particularly important. If the labor market data falls short of expectations, it could significantly raise rate cut expectations and even possibly reignite market expectations for one or more 50 basis point rate cuts. In Powell's speech at the Jackson Hole annual meeting, he emphasized the downside risks to the economy and employment—balancing the rate cut expectations of the US government, markets, and Fed Federal Open Market Committee colleagues against the inflation risks that tariffs may trigger. The weight of this week's data will also significantly increase.
