Blockstream has just warned of an email phishing campaign targeting users of the Blockstream Jade hardware wallet. The company claims that it never sends firmware files via email and that no data has been compromised.

According to Blockstream, a phishing email directs users to download a "new firmware update" through a malicious link. Such phishing attempts aim to steal cryptocurrency and sensitive information by disguising the message as coming from a reputable company.

Data from Scam Sniffer shows that in August alone, cryptocurrency users lost over 12 million USD, with more than 15,000 victims — an increase of 67% compared to the previous month. A report from Hacken also recorded losses of over 3.1 billion USD due to scams and hacks in the first half of 2025.

Users are advised to always carefully check the URL, save the official website, avoid clicking on strange links, use a VPN, and be cautious of emails containing spelling mistakes.
