BusRight is leveraging artificial intelligence to ensure school buses always arrive on time and safely deliver students to school. The startup announced it has raised $30 million (approximately 43.2 billion KRW) in funding. This round was led exclusively by Volition Capital.

BusRight aims to revolutionize the largest public transportation system in the United States—school buses. The U.S. K-12 education system relies on over 13,000 small transportation companies daily to transport more than 20 million students to school, but these operators are facing serious driver shortages and high absenteeism.

To address this issue, BusRight has introduced an AI platform capable of generating real-time routes. This allows school bus operators to quickly plan new routes even when drivers are absent, ensuring students arrive on time.

Additionally, parents using the BusRight platform can monitor their children’s arrival status in real-time via a smartphone app, providing greater peace of mind. Thanks to this technology, many schools have achieved operational cost savings; the Bopp County School District reported saving $989,000 in the first year alone.

BusRight plans to continue enhancing its AI capabilities, developing a 24-hour AI assistant that can instantly answer parents’ questions, and introducing more precise mapping information and NFC chips to improve student safety.
