Er betonte außerdem, dass die US-Militärpräsenz im Nahen Osten eine Warnung an den Iran sei und dass „keine Bodenoffensive geplant ist“.

Die Trump-Regierung in den USA wurde kürzlich dabei erwischt, wie sie Truppen für Bodentaktiken im Nahen Osten verstärkt. Mehrere Tausend Soldaten der Marineinfanterie, darunter die 31. und 11. Expeditionseinheit, sind bereits unterwegs. Auch Einheiten der 82. Luftlandedivision der Armee bereiten sich auf den Einsatz im Nahen Osten vor. (Jinshi)
