Post-Upgrade Changes
- After upgrading to the Unified Account, you can no longer switch back to the Classic Mode. [Spot Account] will become [Unified Account]. If you still want to use the Classic Mode, you can use the [Classic Spot Mode] in the Unified Account. This mode offers the same features as the Classic Mode and can serve as a transitional option.
- If you upgrade to the [Classic Spot Mode], your existing futures bonus, position bonus, and futures lead trader identity will not be affected.
- After upgrading to the Unified Account, except in the Classic Spot Mode, the subaccounts for Options and USDT Perpetual Futures under the Futures account will be removed when using the Single-Currency Margin Mode, Multi-Currency Margin Mode, or Portfolio Margin Mode. Their USDT assets will be merged into the Unified Account. If you later switch back to the Classic Spot Mode, the subaccounts for Options and USDT Perpetual Futures will reappear under the Futures account; however, the USDT assets will not be migrated back.
- If you have enabled Soft Staking, after upgrading to the Unified Account, USDT assets held in the Classic Spot Mode can still generate interest. However, if you switch to the Single-Currency Margin Mode, Multi-Currency Margin Mode, or Portfolio Margin Mode, USDT assets cannot be used for Soft Staking.
How to Trade
After the upgrade completes, you can trade spot, margin, and futures in one account simultaneously, which avoids frequent fund transfers among different accounts. With margin sharing across multiple trading types within the Unified Account, the capital efficiency is greatly improved.
- Cross Margin Trading
The system will auto-borrow the funds you need if your available balance is insufficient in cross margin trading. Once your order in the opposite direction is filled, the system will use the funds received to automatically repay the borrowed amount. Auto Borrow and Auto Repay are available for margin trading in spot markets and are only supported under the Unified Account.
- USDT Perpetual Futures Trading
Under the Unified Account, your USDT Perpetual positions share margin with spot trading, margin trading, and other products. All positions will be settled within the Unified Account, with unified management of funds and risk. This means that you don't need to transfer funds to the futures account in advance—your available funds automatically serve as margin, which greatly enhances capital efficiency. However, please note that losses from any positions could wipe out all the margin in the Unified account, increasing the risk of liquidation. Moreover, you can turn on the Simple Earn switch to enable Simple Earn flexible subscriptions as futures margin.
- IMR and MMR
Initial Margin Ratio (IMR) and Maintenance Margin Ratio (MMR) are two key risk indicators in the Unified Account, which require continuous attention. IMR is an indicator for measuring the available margin in the account. When it drops below 100%, open orders will be auto-canceled. MMR is a key indicator for measuring account risk. When it drops to 100% or below, liquidation will be triggered.
